When you arrive in the village, you will see an isolated chicken. Take it and bring it to the enclosure located to the South (2). In fact, the girl (2) has lost her Cuccos and would like you to bring them back to her. There are 7 in total, including one behind her (2). The 3rd one is in the crate just to the left of the first door you see when arriving in the village (3). The 4th one is on a platform in front of a house. To reach it, you must jump from the construction site with a Cucco (4) then throw your parachute-Cucco down to be able to bring both back. The fifth one is behind an unclimbable gate (5). So take a chicken and jump over the barrier to the left of the gate (5). Then, throw both chickens over the barrier (6) and climb the ladder. At the top, you will find a 6th Cucco (7). Take it and jump down to bring back the 3 chickens. The seventh and last Cucco is at the North of the village (8) in front of the stairs leading to Death Mountain. Bring back this last chicken then talk to the girl who will give you an Empty Bottle (9).

Now go visit the graveyard, the entrance of which is right next to the enclosure. At the very back, there is a large tomb with the Royal Family crest right in front of it. When you see this crest, you almost always have to play Zelda's Lullaby. So take out your ocarina and play this music. The tomb then explodes, revealing a hole into which you must jump. You arrive in an underground room; kill the 4 Keese (bats) to open the gate and go through the door. Then, avoid the Re-Deads and go through the back door. You reach the back of the tomb; read the stone and replay the melody on your ocarina to learn the Sun's Song which brings you to noon or midnight (if it's day, it will be night and vice versa). Leave the graveyard.

It will probably be night, so I advise you to go look for some Skulltulas. While you are in the graveyard, pull the tomb (1) that has flowers planted in front of it. Go into the hole hidden beneath, open the chest, and you will find the Hylian Shield which will save you some rupees. Leave the village, wait until 6 PM (you can play the Sun's Song to save time) and re-enter the village. Go to the graveyard; if you are between 6 PM and 9 PM (ask the guard at the entrance who is a pendulum soldier), you will see Dampé in the middle of his "Heart-Pounding Gravedigging Tour". When he does this, you can talk to him and ask him to dig for 10 rupees. Know that there is nothing on the cobblestones, so only have him dig on the dirt (2) until you find a Piece of Heart. Before leaving the village, if you have more than 10 Skulltula tokens, go visit the House of Skulltula. They will give you a gift: the Giant's Wallet which will allow you to carry 200 rupees.

Goron City

Once you have this wallet, go to the north of the village and show Zelda's letter to the guard so he lets you pass (1). Follow the Death Mountain Trail and follow the signs indicating Goron City. Once in the city, go all the way to the bottom and play Zelda's Lullaby on the carpet in front of the large door so it opens (2). Darunia (their leader) welcomes you angrily ("You're just a kid in a green cap"). He explains that the entrance to Dodongo's Cavern is blocked. It was blocked by a man in black armor (Ganondorf) and that is where the Gorons' food (delicious rocks) is located. Since Gorons are gourmets, they don't want to eat gravel and the race is slowly dying out. To cheer Darunia up, play Saria's Song for him; the leader goes crazy and starts dancing like a maniac (3).

Darunia tells you that if you want the Goron's Ruby (the Spiritual Stone of Fire), you must first open a passage to the cavern and kill the dangerous Dodongos that are inside. To help you in this quest, he gives you the Goron's Bracelet (1) with which even a little guy like you can uproot Bomb Flowers. Exit the city (4th floor) and go to the edge of the cliff a bit to the right, next to the Goron shading the bomb flowers. Take this bomb flower and throw it where the fence is a bit lower and slightly to the left (2). If you threw it correctly, you will see the large rock blocking the passage to the cavern explode (3). If not, try again. Then, go down the path and enter the cavern.
