Mortal Kombat 2 on SNES: The stages

Stage 1: The Dead Pool

The Dead Pool fatality stage. If you perform it, you will send your opponent into the acid pool in the background. If you hold HP while performing this fatality (Y), the opponent will let out a little cry ("oop ha") as they resurface.

Stage 2: Kombat Tomb

The Spike fatality stage. Always satisfying to impale overconfident opponents on the ceiling.

Stage 3: Wasteland

This stage captures the unsettling, dark and mysterious atmosphere of the other world.

Stage 4: The Tower

A tower reaching up to the sky and a flying monk.

Stage 5: Living Forest

A forest with living trees. Occasionally, Smoke or Jade, hiding behind the trees, will peek out.

Stage 6: The Armory

Shao Kahn's armory where the weapons of his army are forged.

Stage 7: The Pit 2

A bridge like in the first Mortal Kombat. Your opponents can crash down below if you help them.

Stage 8: The Portal

The gateway between the two worlds. Occasionally one of the creators will shout 'Toasty' after an uppercut.

Stage 9: Kahn's Arena

The location of the last two battles against Kintaro and Shao Kahn. You can see Kano and Sonya chained in the background.
