To start, you can cut some grass to gather HP, rupees, and Deku Sticks if needed. Then take the ladder. Continue following the path to the large chest, being careful of the bat while jumping and the Gohma larvae attacking you from nowhere. Open the chest to retrieve the Map. There is a Gold Skulltula in the crate right next to it.

Still watching out for those nasty one-eyed beasts, climb the vines and go to Link's left once at the top. Follow the path for a few meters and step on the switch. The door opens; go through it after eliminating the plants, which should give you Deku Nuts.

You arrive in a large room. Start by activating the switch just to Link's right. Take advantage of the pillars being raised to cross the room. Once across, kill all the Gohma larvae within reach. Go down and do the same (check everywhere and look closely at the shadows). There are 2 opposite the entrance and 2 below (one of which is hanging from the ceiling). Once the 4 spiders are killed (as well as the Deku Baba, though I'm not sure if it's mandatory), go back up to press the button but this time go into the alcove on the left. Kill the 2 larvae there. If you have killed them all, a chest appears. Open it; it contains the Fairy Slingshot. Note that you can light the middle torch to get 5 rupees. Exit the room.

Now go down one floor and light a Deku Stick near the chest that contained the map. Turn around and quickly burn the spider web on the other side of the room. Put your stick away so you don't lose it and go through the door.

In this large room, I advise you to start by killing the Skullwalltula on the right vine and then quickly climb it by passing through the central platform. Once at the top, kill the small Gohma and take the Compass from the chest. There is a Gold Skulltula at the top of the vine to the left of the chest, but it is currently inaccessible (requires bombchus). To exit the room, first kill the large Skulltula and then aim at the suspended ladder above the door with your slingshot. The ladder will fall into place, and you can use it to leave the area. Then pass through the next room to find yourself in the central trunk.

Jump into the center of the room (right in front of the entrance), light a stick, and strike the spider web in the middle to find yourself on floor "-1".

Step on the platform and walk on the switch to light the torch. If needed, the other switch will give you 5 rupees. Shoot the eye above the door and pass through it. In the next room, kill all enemies before returning to light a Deku Stick and immediately come back into the room. Quickly light the 2 torches and go through the door.

In this room, a large metal bar with outward-pointing spikes rotates. First, step on the switch to light the torch. Then pull out a Deku Stick and light it just before the moving platform arrives. Jump on it and crouch to pass under the spikes. On the other side, jump to the shore and light the 2 torches. To exit easily, I recommend using a Deku Nut on the large Skulltula.

You arrive in a room where you must kill all the enemies. The slingshot is your friend. Start by reflecting the attack back at the Red Mad Scrub and calm it with your slingshot. Then, it will allow you to break the eggs without larvae coming out (in all cases, use Z-targeting). There is also a bat flying near the ceiling. I didn't check before, but you can probably destroy the eggs that fell on me this way.

In this room, there is a Gold Skulltula inaccessible for now (Song of Time). Your slingshot will be useful here again as it will be much more practical for killing the 4 bats waiting for you on the torches. Then, step on the button in the middle to light the torch and head towards the descending path to burn the web (if you burn the other web, there is a Gold Skulltula behind the door). Then take the small passage.

Here you are again in the room where you fell from the entrance. First, push the large block that will allow you to return. Then go light a Deku Stick on the other side of the room. Return the way you came without falling into the water. You have to look at the path through the transparency (at worst, see my video at the bottom of the page). Get back on the block and set fire to the web on the floor by attacking it with the stick.

You are now right in front of the boss door. To face it, you will have to eliminate the scrubs in order: right, left, and middle (on 3DS: left, right, and middle).

The Deku Tree - Boss : Gohma, Giant Insectoid Monster

Gohma is a giant insectoid monster. To start the fight, look up and meet its gaze. Then, target it with Z and shoot your slingshot into its eye. When Gohma collapses, hit it as much as possible (I recommend the attack where you target with Z then press A; it's the most powerful). Gohma can also climb to the ceiling; try to keep it "targeted" and shoot it with the slingshot to make it fall. Once on the ground, repeat the initial instructions. If you miss it when it's on the ceiling, Gohma lays eggs that you must destroy quickly if you don't want to be attacked by larvae.

Gohma is defeated; you can take the heart it left behind and then exit by going into the circle of light.

On your way out, the tree tells you a story: the creation of Hyrule by Din, goddess of Power, Nayru, goddess of Wisdom, and Farore, goddess of Courage. He also confesses that he is going to die, poisoned by the mysterious man from the desert. The Spiritual Stone of the Forest (Kokiri Emerald) that he gives you is one of the reasons for this evil act. You must save Hyrule, prevent the desert man from getting his hands on the stones and the Triforce, and Navi will help you in your quest. The fate of Hyrule is in your hands.
