Castlevania 2 Walkthrough: Second part, towards Rover Mansion

You leave Berkeley Mansion in possession of Dracula's Rib, which also serves as a shield. If you feel strong, head to the right. If you want to take it easy, retrace your steps and go down the grand staircase to reach the village of Veros. You can buy the Chain Whip in the second house (it costs 150) and if you wish, the Dagger in the first. I advise against the Dagger because you can get the Silver Dagger in a short time for the same price.

Here are some passwords (which always return you to the village of Jova):

1. Chain Whip, Dagger, White Crystal, and Holy Water. Level 1. Day 1, noon (my game's password, except I just said not to buy the dagger).
2. Morning Star, Dagger, White Crystal, Holy Water, and 2 Laurels. Level 2. Day 1, noon (don't look any further, this crazy password provided by the game is better in every way).

Continue to the right to exit the village. After climbing a few stairs and facing a few enemies, the 2 paths rejoin and you find yourself to the right of Berkeley Mansion.

Continue to the right. When the path descends, you must break the bottom platform with Holy Water to go left and again break the blocks to find the Sacred Flame. This quite handy weapon is not very powerful but hits enemies many times, preventing them from moving.

Continue to the right. The spiders are a bit annoying but you should manage. If you wish, there is a hint that tells you to kneel with the Blue Crystal in front of the lake. Personally, I missed the hint at the time and struggled (anyway, I didn't speak English). In fact, I even wonder if I had called SOS Nintendo (or maybe I already had my "Game Atlas" or my father had found the trick).

Continue to the right and cross the forest to go to the village of Aljiba.

Buy garlic in the first house. Cross the village and exit to the right. As soon as you enter the cemetery, drop a clove of garlic and talk to the gentleman in the long orange coat. He will give you the Silver Dagger. Go back into the village and go all the way up the stairs then all the way to the left. A guy in gray will give you the Blue Crystal in exchange for the White Crystal.

Exit the village again and continue to the left until the grand staircase that goes down, then cross the cave.

You arrive in front of the famous lake. Select the Blue Crystal and kneel in front of it for a few seconds. The screen will move up slightly and you will be able to go down and go right. You are now in front of Rover Mansion.
