Zelda 3 A Link to the Past Walkthrough on Super NES: Palace of Darkness, first crystal (GBA, SNES, Super Nintendo)

Take the left door, go down the stairs and find the button under a pot to make a chest appear containing a small key (1). Return to the entrance (magic mirror if you wish) and take the right door. Go down the stairs and take the teleporter. Make a hole at the bottom of the room, cross to the left and make a hole at the top. Kill the 2 green enemies with your sword or with the pots and the red enemy with arrows. To kill it, shoot to its left and move to its right. Cross the conveyor belt room as best as you can and take the stairs. Open the chest to find the palace map (2). Make a hole on the left and take the small key from the chest. You can also make a hole on the right to find some fairies (3). Return to the start.

Take the top door twice, go to the right walkway and push the right block into the hole (1). Fall into the hole, lift the skull, open the chest to find a small key. Return to the start, go to the left walkway in the room where you fell, place a bomb on the bridge and fall (2). Take the top door, open the chest: you get the big key (3). Return to the start with the mirror. Go up twice to return to the walkway room. Take the right one and open the chest.

Jump by positioning yourself on the arrow and pressing up. Go up the stairs and take the left door (if access after the stairs is blocked, throw your boomerang at the sphere below the bumper and jump into the hole to be able to take the stairs again). Lift a skull and run (take a few steps first). Take the left door and cross the maze. At the top left, there are bombs and at the bottom right, a small key. Above the key, make a hole on the right and open the big chest: you get the magic hammer (1). Return to the trapped walkway room. Take the right door, open the chest to find the compass (2). Take one of the 2 stairs and go around the room opening the chest containing a small key. Go back up and take the bottom door. Lift the left pot, open the chest and push the statue to the right. Take the bottom door, stand on the arrow to go down and hit the sphere with your boomerang. Take the right door. Lift the right pots and push the statue at the top right onto the button (3).

Go up and kill the enemies. Go to the top, hit the sphere and shoot an arrow into the eye of the right statue (1). A wall will be pushed, take the secret passage. Hit the red pegs and hit the sphere (2). To kill the turtles, hit the floor with the hammer and hit them with your sword when they are on their backs. Exit the room to the left by hitting the sphere with your boomerang. Take the bottom door. Kill all the turtles and take the left door. Push the block at the top right and take the teleporter (3). Kill the turtles and go up.

It's the Boss. To kill him, you must hit his mask with the hammer until it explodes. After that, you just have to hit the green area on his forehead with your sword until he dies. Watch out for his tail; when he attacks, stay near his head. He also throws a fireball that splits into 3 and then into 4, try to avoid it.

You can now continue the adventure by searching for the other crystals whose locations you now know. Here is a save file for the ZSNES emulator (to be copied and pasted into the Rom folder).
