Zelda 3 A Link to the Past Walkthrough on Super NES: from the Village of Outcasts to the Palace of the 5th Crystal (GBA, SNES, Super Nintendo)

Exit the village via the south and go left to talk to the frog who asks you to bring it back to its partner (1). Return to the village and go right. Use the Magic Mirror and enter the house at the top of the stairs. Exit and re-enter to talk to the blacksmiths who will temper your sword. Return to the Dark World and hammer down all the stakes (2). A secret passage appears, take it: you find 1/4 heart. Return to the Light World and go see the blacksmiths who return your Tempered Sword (3).

Return to the Dark World and enter the broken house to take the chest (1). You must bring this chest to the strange old man at the signpost meditating to the right of the desert in the Light World. If you use the Pegasus Boots, the chest will stop and you will be forced to go fetch it from its original spot. To make it shorter, play the flute and choose number 7 (the chest follows you) and go one screen to the left: the guy is just up there. I advise you not to pick up any objects because if you aren't facing him, you will lose the chest. Talk to the bandit, he will open the chest for you which contains a bottle (2). Go to the cemetery east of the Sanctuary in the Light World and run into the grave at the top right and take the stairs that appear (3). Open the chest and discover the Magic Cape.

Go to the Dark World and go into the cave which, in the Light World, leads to Death Mountain. Take the stairs up, use the Hookshot to cross the hole then the Magic Cape to pass the bumper (1). Exit and take the 1/4 heart. In the Light World, play the flute and go to number 8. Jump into the water and go left to reach the island of the Lake Hylia fountain. Lift the rock, and take the teleporter (2). It is the palace of the 5th crystal: the Ice Palace.
