As in Castlevania 1, it will often be possible for you to break bricks to discover a pot roast (for health points) or a double then triple shot multiplier (to throw your sub-weapon 2, then 3 times with Trevor) or even a big heart (worth 5 small ones). Most often, the bricks that can be broken are located in the back wall of a room, at the hero's height, or above a door, or when the bricks form a kind of staircase. There can also be some elsewhere (e.g., level 11).

The codes
I lost the map I made and it annoys me to remake it. Generally speaking, starting from level 5, even-numbered levels represent one path and odd-numbered ones represent another.
To start:
- 2 = whip

- 3 = cross

- 4 = heart

I took \"d\" as a name. The level numbers have no real meaning and are just there to make reading easier.
1) A simple level with a simple boss,
whip him very quickly, he will retreat almost as much as he advances. At the end of the level, you can go up (2) or down (4). The upper path leads to the same place as the lower one, but you will first have to climb up then down a tower, you can get Grant. No code.
2) You climb up a large clock tower. The boss
is fairly simple, whip him and avoid him.
3) Descending the same tower. There is no boss at the end. With Grant the pirate.
4) A very small part that joins level 5.
5) Owl forest, 2 different bosses: If you go up towards level 6, you will fight a cyclops
with a hammer, which you must hit in the head. Watch out, when he stops, it means he is going to charge at you, so position yourself well and prepare to jump over him. This path allows you to get Sypha right from this level. If you go down towards level 7, you will have a level in the mud with a giant bat
as a boss, which splits into two when hit, the 2 splitting into 4, and the 4 into eight. A fairly easy monster. This path allows you to get Alucard one level later.
6) This level is rather long. It takes place on a boat at the beginning, then there is an intermediate boss: a large medusa
that shoots arrows and can freeze you. Just spam attacks. Next, another part where there are guys with long swords: a bit annoying, and then the boss that splits into 2 parts:
-
Mummies
which are best dealt with using the boomerang, fire, or Sypha's magic orbs; otherwise, use the whip while avoiding what they throw. Kill one first, then the other, do not alternate hits between the two.
- A cyclops
with a hammer described above (5)

7) A cave with falling acid drops that allow you to go down half a level if you are patient. The final boss is Alucard
, you need to hit him in the head, which is quite simple since there are blocks at the right height. You can then use him as a companion character.
8) A level with an ascent where you must not let the screen catch up with you (but generally you have to wait for it to scroll up) and another quite annoying ascent full of fireballs. The boss is Frankenstein
. He is pretty simple, hit him 2 or 3 times, avoid his attack, and repeat. There is a food drop in one of the blocks in the room (top left).

9) The beginning is in a cave, then there is quickly a split path:
-
If you go up, it's longer and the boss
is the one from level 1 (except he throws bones as well). Stand on the right at his height and hit him like crazy, throw knives if he moves away.
-
If you go down, you will enter a level with water, fishmen, and lots of bone dragons. The boss is a flying bone dragon
that will leave when it only has a third of its health left. Then, you must hurry because the water is rising (if you are slow, you can use Grant or Alucard to move faster). At the boss's second appearance, stand on the right, throw knives, and use your whip when it approaches.

10) A very simple level with axe throwers and bone dragon heads that shoot fireballs. At the end, 2 hydras
attack you; stay on the middle platform, and if one of them appears near this platform, get close to it and attack. If both appear far away, use your special weapon to hit them.

11) This is a cave with flying platforms. The final boss is Frankenstein
(see 8). There is a health item in an unusual place on the previous screen (below). It is hidden in the sort of brown stalactites to the left of the stairs; jump and attack.

12) An easy level, there is a passage with a big descent where the scrolling speed is forced by the screen just before the boss
who splits into 3 parts (mummy
, cyclops
and giant bat
: see 6 for the first 2). For the bat, hit it while staying relatively far away and move aside when it jumps, then repeat (if you have no health left, watch out: at one point it won't jump but will throw 3 fireballs instead).

13) If you do not have Alucard in this level, I hope you are patient because, after an intermediate boss
(the bat from paragraph 5), there is a huge section where you have to wait for blocks to fall from the sky to be able to climb. If you have Alucard, fly up (do the same for other identical sections). This level is long (or very very long if you don't have Alucard) but not really hard. The boss
is the one from 12,
don't hesitate to hit the cyclops
while standing right in front of him at his height, and move away when he lifts his hammer.

I) This scenery, this music, doesn't it remind you of anything? Then run out and buy Castlevania 1. Other than that, this level is super simple except for the boss. Arriving at the 3rd part of the level (which, for once, is located at the top of a staircase and not behind a door), climb the stairs with Trevor, take the boomerang, go back down, and break the wall on the left to get a double boomerang. Change characters to cross the bridge. With the double boomerang, Death
is easy to beat; stand on a block at the top, throw the boomerangs when it appears, and attack. When it dies, place yourself on the right side of the screen and hit the big head
while staying on the right (as it goes from right to left in circles). It is not harmed by the boomerang.

II) Another fairly simple level, but the boss, your doppelganger
, is rather difficult. If you have Sypha
, no problem, select her in the 4th part of the level. In the top left of this section, take the magic orbs (which replace the boomerang), then switch back to Trevor
so you don't lose your sub-weapon. To beat the boss, run away continuously while firing the orbs whenever possible. Otherwise, take the boomerang with Trevor and the double boomerang by breaking the bricks to the right of the boss. Get on the platform and wait for your opponent to jump to throw your 2 boomerangs, then retreat (at the last possible second) to the bottom right. There, turn around and throw your two boomerangs again, if possible at mid-height so that it hits the enemy whether he is on your level or higher. Afterward, whip him until you get hit. While you are temporarily invincible, get back on the platform and repeat everything (unless he is following you too closely, in which case skip a step).
An annoying but super effective strategy: with Trevor, hit your double and transform. The other Trevor \"melts\" before striking you. Transform back into Trevor, and as soon as the other is re-formed, hit him once and transform again... You only deal one hit each time, but the strategy is unstoppable.

III) No problems except possibly for the boss. Try to get there with the axe and fire if you have Sypha. The monster splits into 3 forms:
-
First, the classic Dracula
. Jump and hit him in the head until you are surrounded by 2 flames. Then approach one of them and continue to strike him until a flame blast appears under your feet. Avoid it, and Dracula will change locations. Repeat as many times as necessary.
-
To defeat the 5-headed monster
, hit it and throw axes at it. If it gets too close to one side, pass underneath it when it isn't sending down acid droplets.
-
For the final part
, no problem if you have many hearts left; throw axes into its head and avoid the lasers it fires from its hands or head. Otherwise, you must climb onto the platforms and hit it in the head without falling into the pit.
