Double Dragon II is the NES game I've finished the most, and for a "hardcore gamer" like me, that's saying something. I didn't have many beat 'em ups back then, and naturally, this game had the advantage of cooperative play—meaning you could play with your friends instead of against them. As a result, rather than crushing my cousin in a game I knew by heart while he wasn't much of a gamer, we often finished Double Dragon 2 - The Revenge together. The sprites are fairly large, the playability is good, and it's quite pretty and very colorful. It's a very accessible game where you can choose not to hit each other (Game A), so it could be finished with anyone (even if I admit, it wasn't rare for me to take the player 2 controller for the platforming sections of Level 7, or even Level 6). The game is simple but fun, finishing in about thirty minutes without ever having time to get bored. Short and varied. While the first one on NES (released later) didn't offer a 2-player mode and the third one lost its color and accessibility (only one life for a game that was a bit too difficult) and its variety (repetitive, and you get bored with only 5 levels), this Double Dragon 2 is a gem that few beat 'em ups have managed to equal (even on SNES).

The file / complete walkthrough of Double Dragon II on NES Mini

This file doesn't contain much since Double Dragon II is a beat 'em up. Despite this, I wanted to "summarize" all the levels ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) and transcribe and translate the prologue and the epilogue of one of my favorite games on the good old Nintendo Entertainment System. Since a walkthrough isn't useful for much, I thought a tutorial to explain the moves to those discovering the game on NES Mini wouldn't be too much. I also tried to make an "enemies" page even if it's a bit complicated to have things to say when we don't even know their names. And since I know a trick and a code, I thought I'd also make a "tips and codes" page, even if the plural is pushing it ;). Maybe by then, I'll have other ideas. Finally, the manual is here. To finish, the link to remember to access this page, which will always be active even if I change hosts: http://doubledragon2.nintendoforever.com. Double Dragon 2 - The Revenge videos on NES (mini) and Famicom

As has been the case lately, when I replay a game, I record myself at the same time and make one big video (or several if there are multiple modes) and small ones separated by level. For Double Dragon 2, I made a prologue video, an epilogue, and one per level for the 3 game modes. First playthrough after at least 15 years in Game B; it wasn't brilliant (overall, it wasn't brilliant), but I hope you'll enjoy seeing the game again.
