Young Merlin on Super NES: Walkthrough, part 8

First, take the lightning bolt and go back to see the dragon. (Take the rainbow door on the right. Then, take the door on the right again. Exit the cave through the door located below and re-enter through the door just below that. There, find the gate that opens with a button. To find it, go to the top left of the door you arrived from by passing underneath at the beginning (you don't need to exit the cave to find it). Pass the 2 gates and go out.)

To defeat the dragon, use the hourglass and go behind him (don't forget the heart on the right). When he is surprised by your disappearance and blinks his eyes, use the lightning bolt. Repeat the operation until he explodes.

Go down and take the minecart. Just after the start, the cart goes down, go straight, after the junction to the left, avoid the holes on the left then on the right. It turns right at the end and goes back up (avoid to the left right after). Take the second junction on the right (just before the wall) and let yourself roll (avoid up). The cart continues to the right and goes down along the wall (avoid left, right, left, left, right). Go straight to get a heart (fake wall). Otherwise, turn left before this wall (avoid down) then down (avoid right), then left and let yourself roll one last time. No map with game images this time, but André made us a superb diagram. SUMMARY (just the turns you must take + holes to avoid in lowercase):

Drop your lightning bolt at the door (you won't have kept it for long) and enter. Stand in front of the large mirror and use your small mirror to pass to the other side of the large one.

The cocoon is fought like the first one you encountered in the cave (freeze then star) and the spider is fought the same way but after exploding the cocoon. Tip: To beat the spider, stay in the center because it only shoots at the sides. Change weapons with A and, if you are slow, use the mirror to lure the mini-spiders. You rescue the girl's father.

Take the minecart again (diagram towards the pig). First take the upper path (no choice) then (avoid left) the 2nd on the right and pull a U-turn on the lower track (down then left). Then, it's straight ahead (avoid up, down, up at the beginning and let yourself roll). Apply the gel to the door and enter. The pig is fought like the first one. Tip: Use the mirror, hit the pig about 5 times and use the mirror again. You rescue the fairy.

Upon exiting, let yourself roll (diagram towards the slime monster). At the end on the left, it goes up then back to the right. There, avoid up, down, up and take the 1st up then the 1st left, you are there.
Drop your bubble lance and enter. The monster is fought like the first one encountered. Tip: Avoid it until it splits. Use the mirror and freeze all the pieces of the monster attacking your double. You rescue the magician.
Next, shoot, freeze, shoot, freeze... Exit, go straight and place your lantern on the door.

Do not go near him as he will give you a very powerful, fatal punch.

He first throws 3 series of 3 eyes at you (1 that attacks you and 2 that move back and forth straight in the middle and zigzagging at the top). So place your effigy at the top, yourself at the bottom (not too low) and use fire to kill them. The bearded man explodes, a flying dragon appears. When he brings the night, use fire.

This dragon sends you 3 series of 4 bombs. To prevent them from hurting you too much, use the flame, the comb, or the balloon. The bombs will stick to you but will only explode when the hero has put the object away. At that moment, move to the correct side (the one where there are no bombs, keep your finger pressed in that direction while he combs his hair).

He then sends 2 series of electric circles. Use the mirror, the circles will explode on your double.

Finally, the dragon flies off to the right, take the opportunity to go rescue the girl by throwing a star at the bubble. She will give you a locket. Avoid the boss's attacks (keep moving, use the mirror...) and as soon as the locket is ready (yellow), use it (the lightning must touch the dragon). Hit him about 8 times, and you have finished the game. Epilogue

For this final part, our special correspondent André prefers to use the hourglass rather than the mirror. After rescuing the girl, he activates the hourglass to block the monster in order to have enough time to position himself in the right place. Then the fight begins: hourglass, locket, hourglass once, hourglass twice, locket, hourglass once, hourglass twice, locket... It's about avoiding fatal contact with the monster every time. The hourglass allows you to take the time to keep your distance. In practice, the locket is active once every two hourglass hits.
