Super Mario 64 on N64 - The First Bowser World - Bowser in the Dark World Play music

The first Bowser world is located in the main hall. Climb the staircase and go left. You need 8 stars to pass the door. To finish Bowser's level, you simply follow the path while avoiding falling into the holes despite the various traps. This page will just tell you where to find the 8 red coins that make the star appear right next to the pipe leading to Bowser.

  1. Start by moving up to the big purple button and press it by walking on it, then quickly turn around and rush back to the start to take the first red coin by walking on the wooden blocks, which disappear as soon as the timer runs out.
  2. The second coin is next to the purple button. Press it again and grab it. Be careful not to get your butt burned. The fire won't touch you if you stay on the wooden block (but watch the timer).
  3. After a few platforms, you'll find the third red coin protected by an electric ball. Grab it without stopping and continue on your way.

  1. This coin isn't hard to take, but you have to spot it: it's right behind the wall.
  2. You can take this coin safely by staying in the corner of the moving platform.
  3. After jumping onto the platform that doesn't move, turn right and follow the little path to find this 6th coin.

  1. Wait a moment at the start of the second seesaw, then run to reach the platform at the top. Turn around and do a long jump, then 2 small jumps to get the 7th coin.
  2. Turn back, do the 2 jumps again, then fall off the platform, staying right at the edge, to find the 8th coin.

The star appears behind the pipe. Follow the path and don't forget to grab it before entering the pipe to fight Bowser.

Bowser isn't very nasty; he shoots a few easy-to-dodge flames (which often leave coins to heal yourself). You need to quickly circle around him to grab his tail (with B). Once that's done, spin the stick and try to throw him onto a bomb at the edge of the arena. If you can throw him very far, it's quite hard to aim in that case. So I recommend throwing him not too hard in the direction of a bomb and grabbing his tail again. If you're fast, you can just rush at him and dive so as not to even give him time to shoot. Once you're close to a bomb, it will be very easy to release the tail at the right moment because you won't need to spin very fast.
