Super Mario 64 on N64 - Level 1: Bob-omb Battlefield - Coins and overview
Level Stars
Overview
- The first teleporter is in a patch of flowers after the bridge on the right and takes you to another patch of flowers near the mountain entrance.
- The second teleporter is in a small recess on the slope and takes you up one "floor".
- Mario can hang under the bridge if you hold the A button. It's useless here, but you can practice for later.
- There is a 1-Up in the patch of flowers near the first teleporter. You need to collect the coins to make it appear.
- Another 1-Up is under the mountain entrance.
- You can climb the slope right after the mountain entrance on foot if you don't jump and don't stop.
The 8 Red Coins
- To the left of the bridge above the "elevator".
- On a small ugly green hill in the plain.
- It is guarded by Chain Chomp.
- Near the 4 wooden posts.
- Next to coin 4.
- Under the mountain entrance.
- On the slope opposite the mountain entrance.
- On the elevated island.
The star appears between the 4 posts.
Bonus Star: 100+ Coins
A few little tips for getting the bonus star: for example, select the red coins star when you enter the painting.
Killing Koopa gives you 5 coins, running around the posts gives you 5 coins per post, many coins are in the air,
try to leave 4 or 5 within reach on the ground and take them last, because when you collect the hundredth coin, the star appears in place of the coin. So it's better to be on the ground.
There are 146 coins in this level, and even though plenty of them are in the air and collecting them all can be a pain, that leaves some room to spare.
