Overview

1. You can pass through Big Boo's blue portraits by taking the "blue" cap.
2. If you fall into the hole in the rooms to the right of the hall, you end up in front of the ugly Boos' merry-go-round.

The 8 Red Coins

1. Under the piano behind the first door on the left of the hall.
2. On a shelf behind the second door on the left of the hall.
3. On the other shelf in the room.

4. Behind the first door on the right of the hall.
5. Under a coffin behind the first door on the right at the top of the hall staircase.
6. Under another coffin.

7. Behind the first door on the left at the top of the hall staircase.
8. Behind the second door on the right at the top of the staircase.

The star appears in the main room upstairs.

Bonus Star: 100+ Coins

You'll get a lot of coins by killing the small Boos (ground floor of the mansion + the merry-go-round), the creatures and crates outside, as well as the eyes. A blue coin switch is located in front of the balcony door. With 151 coins, it's only the 5th most packed level, but perhaps also the easiest / fastest because there are lots of blue coins.
