Super Mario 64 on N64 - The 15 Secret Stars Play music

There are 15 secret stars in Mario 64. In addition to the 7 described on this page, you'll find 3 in Bowser's levels (Bowser in the Dark World, Bowser in the Fire Sea and Bowser in the Sky), 3 by collecting the red coins in the "cap" levels (red cap, blue cap and green cap) and 2 in separate levels where you also have to collect the 8 red coins (the Secret Aquarium level and the Beyond the Rainbow level). Don't hesitate to check the general walkthrough if you can't find the entrance to some of these levels. I also made a page dedicated to the slide, which you can check out on the page for Princess's Secret Slide.

In the main hall, climb the big staircase facing the entrance and go all the way to the right of the small balcony to take the door (you need at least 1 star). There, jump into the stained-glass window on the left to reach Princess's Secret Slide. There are 2 stars to win here:

  • Finish the race in as much time as you like and go smash the yellow block at the bottom.
  • Finish the race in under 21 seconds and a star will appear the moment you cross the line.

At the bottom of the castle, in the small area where Courses 6, 7 and 8 are, you'll see a fairly fast rabbit (MIPS the Rabbit). If you manage to catch it by diving on it with B, you'll get a star.

While chasing the rabbit, you must have noticed a door with a star. It leads to Course 6 but also to a Toad who will give you an extra star.

The rabbit is back. Once you have 50 stars, you can see the rabbit a second time, and just like the first time it will try to run away. Once you've caught it, it will give you its second star.

Take the keyhole door in the hall at the top of the stairs. Climb the spiral staircase and open the door. Head left and follow the wall. A Toad will give you a star if you talk to him.

For the third time, a Toad will give you a star. This one is in the clock room (Course 14). When you enter the room, the clock is in front of you and the Toad is on your right.
