Briefing

A dataDyne scientist calling himself Dr. Caroll has contacted the Carrington Institute: he is asking to be extracted from dataDyne headquarters tonight. He claims to have criticized the moral implications of dataDyne's latest project, and the company plans to condition him mentally rather than eliminate him. This procedure should make him more cooperative.

Carrington

This is your first mission, Joanna, and it's of the utmost importance. We need to retrieve Dr. Caroll before he's put in danger, and learn more about dataDyne's projects. Our rules of engagement: spare unarmed civilians. Remember, keycards only work while their owners are alive.

Mission Intro

A futuristic helicopter flies over a city just as futuristic, with its tall buildings and flying taxis. On board, Joanna Dark, aka Perfect Dark. Carrington explains that she must quickly save Dr. Caroll before his superiors "condition his mind". It won't be simple, since the helicopter drops Agent Dark on top of the dataDyne building, while Dr. Caroll is in an underground laboratory.

Objective 1: Disable Internal Security Hub

It's located on one of the building's rooftops, away from ground-level traffic interference. Use an ECM mine on the relay to jam the security cameras. The mine has to be attached to the relay to work. Move fast, the effect only lasts about a minute.

Objective 2: Obtain Keycode Necklace

Cassandra De Vries wears the access key to the building's restricted areas on her necklace. It's linked to her pulse and will stop working if she dies. Take the necklace and neutralize her without killing her.

Objective 3: Download Project Files

Dr. Caroll's fate is on the agenda of a meeting in one of the offices. The executive in charge of Dr. Caroll's project will be present. Follow him to his office, access his files, then download them with your data uplink.

Objective 4: Disable External Comms Hub

Finish jamming communications by placing another ECM mine on the equipment in the surveillance room at the base of the building. This will keep them from calling in outside reinforcements.

Objective 5: Gain Entrance to Laboratory

Reach the security elevator leading to the underground laboratory where Dr. Caroll is being held. Its exact location is unknown, but it should be somewhere near the lobby.

Mission End
