Mission : dataDyne Research: Investigation

Briefing

A dataDyne scientist calling himself Dr. Caroll has contacted the Carrington Institute: he is asking to be extracted from dataDyne headquarters tonight. After criticizing the moral implications of dataDyne’s latest project, the company decided to condition him mentally rather than eliminate him. This procedure should make him more cooperative.

Carrington

You’ll need to use the data uplink to get through the door leading to Dr. Caroll’s lab area. Unfortunately we’ve detected a very high level of electromagnetic interference around the laboratories. It’s disrupting our communications equipment. Force the scientists to interrupt their experiments. Remember, they aren’t hostile, so don’t shoot them. Don’t forget your data uplink either, it should come in handy.

Objective 1: Holograph Radioactive Isotope

Use the CamSpy to get a spectrographic image of the isotope being tested in dataDyne’s underground laboratories. Dr. Caroll has linked the isotope to an improvement in the experimental shield system, an item also present in the laboratories.

Objective 2: Start Security Maintenance Cycle

Reprogram the cleaning robots in the service area so they work on the security systems instead. This will let you progress through the science complex. Stay close to the robot so you don’t take damage.

Objective 3: Shut Down Experiments

The experiments in the sector 2 laboratories are interfering with our communications, preventing our hackers from cracking the security code. Force the scientists there to shut them down. You could try charging in, but the alarm will probably go off. Spare the scientists.

Objective 4: Obtain Experimental Technologies

Dr. Caroll informs us that three other major projects are close to completion in the labs next to his. Recover the prototypes of the three experiments and bring them back to the Carrington Institute for study.

Objective 5: Locate Dr. Caroll

The basement is divided into 4 security sectors. Dr. Caroll is in the last of these sectors: sector 4. A barrier keeping intruders out is deployed between each sector. Find a way around it.
