Briefing

Following Elvis's last maneuver, the three craft involved crashed together in Alaska. The President's position is uncertain, and an EMP jamming screen is preventing any rescue action or location of the site.

For now we can only send you messages, Joanna. If you manage to eliminate the source of the jamming, we'll be able to determine your position and send help. Finding and protecting the President remains your absolute priority, though.

Mission Intro

Joanna survived the crash. She'll need to find the President and get him to safety, while a clone of him is at the crash site.

Objective 1: Retrieve Presidential medical scanner

This device continuously updates the President's medical record and keeps him in stable health. Find it to keep the President healthy.

Objective 2: Activate distress beacon

This will only work once the jamming has been eliminated, but if it's activated at the evacuation point, the rescue teams will arrive faster.

Objective 3: Shut down enemy jamming device

A sophisticated enemy system is flooding the sector with an impenetrable EMP jamming field. You'll be able to pinpoint its location more easily from the ground than our aircraft can from the air. Once you've found it, cut the power and we'll provide you with help.

Objective 4: Retire Presidential clone

US security would be jeopardized if two identical individuals, both wielding full authority, both claimed to be the President. Identify the impostor and eliminate the threat.

Objective 5: Locate and rescue President

This objective is your priority. The President's safety is vital. You must protect him at all costs until reinforcements arrive, or eliminate any danger.

End of the Mission

Joanna checks in on the President and takes the opportunity to find out that Trent Easton wanted to borrow a US government deep-sea research vessel named the Pelagic II — a unique model allowing experiments to be conducted at great depths. Even though the President had no idea of Trent's betrayal, he had refused to lend it to dataDyne.

While Joanna says he'll have to answer for his actions, we find Trent talking with the mysterious tall blond man. The latter is furious at Easton's failure to obtain the submarine or hold on to the President. He declares that Trent is a corrupted asset and that "they" will do without him. As Easton pulls out his magnum and calls the blond man a "Scandinavian freak," the blond man transforms into a horrifying creature and kills Trent. But who really is this blond man? You won't learn any more in the next mission: Pelagic II: Exploration but you'll have to play it anyway.
